Dad: You don't want the other one? This guy doesn't have a face.
Kid: Yes, he does!
Dad: Why is he all green?
Kid: Because it's Max Power Hal Jordan. Helloooooo!
Dad: Did you see these other ones? This is what Green Lantern's supposed to look like. The one you have doesn't look good.
Kid: Yeah, well your Elektra comics don't look good!

Kid: Dad, can I have this?
Dad: How much is it?
Kid: $10.50.
Dad: No. I told you, you only have $10 to spend today.
Kid: Dad, I know it's $10.50, but I promise that if I get it today I'll never, never, never, never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever sell it at a yard sale and I'll take really good care of it.
Dad: If you really want it, then we can come back next week and you can get it. You'll have $15 then.
Kid: Daaaad, you're torturing me! You're torturing me, dad!
I'm not sure whether it makes the story better or worse that I don't know what it was that the kid wanted.
