Wednesday Haul 3/28/12
New comics I bought this week:
Aquaman #7 - Ever since issue 1, which I really enjoyed, this series has been wavering for me. After hitting a low point with issue 6 I was determined to drop the title, but #7 has roped me back in again. This is what I get for taking to so long to get around to reading my books. If I had read #6 before #7 came out, I probably would have given up already, but...

Wednesday Haul 3/21/12
New comics I bought about a month ago:
Amazing Spiderman #682
Avengers X-Sanction #4 - I swear to you that I read all 4 issues of tis series. Still, I have no clue what the point of it was. Ed McGuinness drew a lot of muscles and now Avengers Vs X-Men is starting. The end.
Batman #7 - I really liked the explanation of Talon, how he works, who he is, and all of that jazz. I also just really...

Wednesday Haul 3/14/12
New comics I bought sometime in the past 2 months:
Batwoman #7 - Okay, I’m ready to admit that the plot of this series has been pretty underwhelming and that I was previously just overcome with visual delight at the sight of J.H. Williams III’s artwork. In his absence I’ve begun to feel my interest in this title dipping to dangerously low levels. The current artist is being...

Wednesday Haul 3/7/12
New comics I bought some time ago (I swear I’m reading as fast as I can!):
Amazing Spiderman #681
Animal Man #7 - Steve Pugh’s art is a welcome addition to this title, but the story feels like it’s dawdling. I want the plot to go somewhere. Right now the characters are just kind of hiding out in an RV while we readers are treated to dream sequences and fake movies within the...

Ostrichard commission
I would buy SO many Ostrichard comics…
ryanottley:
Really cool someone commissioned me to draw Cory Walker’s awesome character Ostrichard at the Emerald city con. I would love if Cory did a one-shot or something with this guy. Ink and Copic markers on 11x17 cardstock.

Wednesday Haul 2/29/11
New books I bought this several week(s) ago:
Amazing Spiderman #680
The Cape #4 - As much as I enjoyed this series, I can’t help but feel that there was a bigger story Joe Hill could have told with this premise. This mini-series felt like the first chapter of a longer story and I definitely wish that it were. As per usual, Zach Howard’s art was amazing.
Invincible #89 - I’m...

Wednesday Haul 2/22/12
I’m still way behind in writing these posts, but for what it’s worth, here’s what I bought 7 or so weeks ago:
Aquaman #6 - Blah. Is anyone else noticing how cliched and bland all of Geoff Johns’ supporting characters are in this book? The art was so-so this time around (with layouts only by series artist Ivan Reis), but this story was just weak and been-there-done-that....
