So…someone’s going to actually write novel that fits this cover, right? RIGHT?!

22.  The Gumbo-eatin’ Gambler

The talented and lovable woman-of-comics Kt Shy asked for a Gambit waaaay back at the beginning of the month, and I’ve been thinking about how to draw him ever since.

I wanted to do an updated Gambit look, something more modern and sensible, but Gambit is so STEEPED in the Lee/Claremont 90’s-ness that to try to remove it is to kill the patient.  So let’s accept, enjoy, and celebrate this ridiculousness.

‘Cause dey don’t make ‘em like Gambit anymore, chére.

Drawing by Jake Wyatt

Gambit was always my favorite X-Man when I was a kid. He probably isn’t my absolute favorite anymore, but I do still love his powers.

I want so badly to know the context behind this image.

My MST3K DVD collection is finally complete!

…until Volume XXVII comes out in a month or two.

I don’t have Volume 10, but I have 10.2, which is good enough for me at the moment. My biggest surprise came last week when I happened upon a (slighty beat up) copy of Volume 9 in a local used record store for the ridiculously low price of $38! It goes for 6 times that much or more on Amazon/Ebay. I also picked up a bootlegged copy of Season 0 from a booth at the Baltimore Comic Con last fall and the few episodes Shout Factory has given a solo release that weren’t already available in the Rhino sets at some point.

It’s been a long journey, but seeing all those boxed sets on the same shelf together is so worth it.

11.  The Beauty Untouchable

This was so much fun to draw.  Sometimes it’s like pulling teeth, but Rogue was an act of joy.

20 days left in the Mighty Month of Marvel, 20 drawings yet to be done.  Let’s do the damn thing.  VOTE.

Rogue has had some lame costumes in her day, but this is definitely NOT one of them.
